Africa Night

Each year, Avondale hosts an all-night gathering in the gym in support of our Sister school in Ethiopia. Students get pledges for the event and the student with the most money in pledges wins a prize. The event has included traditional African dances, drum circles and presentations. In the evening they are served a traditional meal from one of the regions of Africa. Throughout the event, students play games, watch movies or play a giant game of Twister. The event ends with a pancake breakfast prepared by the students. While it is difficult attend school the next day, students and faculty alike say it is worth it. Many say this event is the highlight of the year.
